A True Texas Success Story

“Maureen McGuire has been my banker for years, and she and David Baty understand how my hobby turned into a 48 year nationwide business of restoring and selling 1955, 1956, and 1957 Ford Thunderbirds.  We are passionate about our business and Maureen and David are committed to providing outstanding service.  I have never been disappointed and we plan on continuing our relationship with Texas Republic Bank for many years to come.”

Amos Minter, Owner, Thunderbirds 55-57

Description

At Texas Republic Bank, we are proud to be able to serve a lot of different types of businesses in and around our community. One of the true Texas success stories for a unique business we provide banking services to is Minter Thunderbirds.

The Company Today

Today, Minter’s Thunderbirds is a true family business. Justin Minter is now involved in the company, making it a second-generation company with a unique product and business model.

However, the same attention to detail, amazing personalized customer service and the significant collection of perfectly restored classic Thunderbirds continue to generate record sales for this Dallas-based company.

Texas Republic Bank is proud to have played a small part in this unique business. We have provided banking services for the Minter Thunderbirds for over 20 years, with Maureen McGuire personally handling the account to provide a single point of contact for the business. We look forward to continuing to work with Minter Thunderbirds, helping them to continue with their success and growth in their unique business venture.

The History

Almost 50 years ago in 1969, Amos Minter realized he had more than just a passing interest in Ford Thunderbirds. You may even say it was an obsession, and not just with all Thunderbirds, but specifically with those produced in the years 1955 to 1957.

Mr. Minter was involved in all aspects of buying, selling and restoring these classic vehicles. With his unique vision for a business, he was determined to become the leading restoration service for Ford Thunderbirds, and the number of used vehicles in the southern part of the USA provided a lot of restoration possibilities.

Unlike the competition, Mr. Minter kept his focus on his passion, the 1955-1957 Ford Thunderbird. He created a unique niche company with a network of suppliers for Original Equipment Manufacturer components as well as all of the options, parts, and accessories that came along with these years and these models. With the focus on these particular models and years, the company became highly experienced at full restorations that other restoration services simply could not provide.

It didn’t take long for Minter Thunderbirds to become the talk of car collectors around the world. Customers from across the country and around the world were soon flying into Dallas to see the selection of fully restored cars and make a purchase.

With meticulous attention to detail in every component of the vehicle, as well as full restoration, these beautiful and iconic vehicles have become a must-have addition for any serious car collector.
